Terms & Conditions
Welcome to the Poundstretcher ("Poundstretcher", "we", "our" or "us") website.
The terms and conditions set out below describe how we conduct our business through the site, they are subject to change and you should check for any such changes each time you visit this website.
This website is owned by Poundstretcher Limited ("Poundstretcher", "we", "our" or "us"). The images contained on the site are provided in good faith and are a fair reflection of the products being offered for sale. We cannot warrant the appearance and/or colours of products shown exactly replicate the appearance and/or colours of the physical products. All sizes and measurements are approximate, but we do try to make sure that they are as accurate as possible.
The products described and offered for sale are intended for domestic use only.
You can pay for your purchase using Mastercard, Visa, Delta, Maestro, Solo, and Electron cards. We do not accept Diners Club, American Express, Flexicash, or Love2Shop vouchers.
All of the prices displayed on the website are in £ sterling. On occasion, the published price may be varied and we will tell you the varied price before any contract is formed between us, and you can then decide whether you wish to continue with the purchase of the products in question. All prices shown are inclusive of VAT charged at the appropriate rate. Any omission or error in any order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgment, dispatch note, invoice or other document issued by us may be corrected by us without liability.
Your Statutory Rights
As a consumer, there are certain terms implied into your contract with us which we cannot exclude or limit (for example, the provisions of the Sale of Goods Act 1979).
These terms and conditions do not dispute your statutory rights as a consumer. If you would like more information on your statutory rights, contact your local Trading Standards Office (www.tradingstandards.gov.uk), Citizens Advice Bureau (www.citizensadvice.org.uk) or www.consumerdirect.gov.uk
If the products that you purchase from us are faulty, or in your opinion not fit for the purpose in which you purchased them, you should advise us of this via the ‘contact us’ section within a reasonable time following delivery or within a reasonable time following discovery of the defect(s) which are not apparent to you on an initial inspection.
Where you have purchased products which come with a manufacturers’ warranty, you should contact us and inform us of any defects in those products within the warranty period specified by the manufacturer (details of which are supplied with the products).
We will examine the products and, if they are faulty, we will provide one of the following solutions:
- We will remedy the defect
- Replace the defective product(s)
- Refund the price of the defective product(s)
Refund / Replacement Policy
Refund / Replacement Policy: If you exercise your statutory rights as outlined above, we will deal with your query as quickly as possible and exchange the product or arrange a refund.
Delay or Failure to Perform
Poundstretcher shall not be held liable if we are prevented or delayed in performing any of our obligations to you due to any cause beyond our reasonable control (e.g. an act of God, war or civil disturbance, an act of terrorism, industrial action).
Limitations of our Liability
Without prejudicing your statutory rights, we will not be liable to you by way of representation (unless fraudulent), common law duty or under any express or implied term of this contract for:
- Any losses which are not foreseeable by both you and us when this contract is formed arising in connection with the supply of products or their use by you.
- Any losses which are not caused by any breach by us.
Our products are for domestic use only and we do not accept liability for the fitness of goods for business purposes, nor do we accept any liability for loss of use of the item nor any loss over and above the cost of the item in the event of a claim. Nothing in this Contract shall limit or exclude our liability to you for things which we cannot, by law, limit or exclude and, further, nothing in this contract means that our liability to you for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence or that of our employees, agents or subcontractors is limited.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations
The UK's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations provide members of the public the opportunity to deposit their old items for recycling with the aim of the reducing the number of electrical items that are disposed of in landfill sites or burnt. Such equipment can pose potential adverse effects on the environment and human health due to the presence of hazardous substances and therefore correct disposal is essential. The crossed out wheeled bin symbol indicates that a product can be recycled as part of the WEEE Regulations and should not be disposed of in your bin.
We offer customers buying new electrical equipment from us free take-back of their old items on a like-for-like basis in our stores. You can simply take your unwanted items to any of our stores within 28 days of purchasing the new product provided you take a receipt as proof of a like-for-like purchase.
If you decide not to bring back your unwanted items to store then the website www.recyclenow.com contains information relating to WEEE, including the location of the local council waste collection sites for waste electrical items.
The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations
Under the Waste Battery Regulations, we are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at www.recyclenow.com
