Spring cleaning is just past the half-way point now, though even-so, work around the house is never done! Each week we will be featuring a different area around the home and the best ways to tackle cleaning them!
Don't forget all your essentials, such as yellow rubber gloves, cleaning cloths, a bucket, mop, and a timer as you go about giving your room a good 30-minute blitz!
This week we're talking about the bathroom, an area full of bad bacteria and somewhere that should be kept as clean as possible! Here are a few quick tips on how you can make your bathroom shine.
1. Create Some Room
Clear out everything. Don't simply go around the toiletries, put them all to the side and out the way, and then you can start wiping down your surfaces with some antibacterial bathroom spray! After all, it isn't just your toilet and shower that can be covered in germs, your window sill and other bathroom surfaces are at risk too!
2. A Ship-shape Sink
Whether it's limescale or regular grime, you need to make sure your sink is completely clean. After all, think of all the gunk that goes in there on a daily basis? Just take some Stardrops bathroom surface cleaner, a clean cloth, and some can-do attitude and wipe everything clean. Also, be sure to have any mirrors that are around your sink to be rubbed clean with a spritz of glass cleaner.
3. Nothing Like A Sparkling Shower
Sure the shower floor and walls are important, and these can be cleaned using all kinds of bathroom sprays, such as with Cif Ultrafast or even with the fantastic Cif cream. However, don't forget about the glass itself; with some handy glass cleaner (mentioned above), is all you need. Just need to spray it across, rinse with the shower head, and for that perfect finish, use a squeegee.
Now, as for limescale, you may be getting quite a build-up of it in the nooks and crannies (the shower head, behind/around the tap, etc.). Limelite is just one of the ways to banish it and leave everything sparkly clean.
4. Make That Toilet Sparkle
The seat, the rim of the bowl, all the hidden parts behind, everything! They all need a quick spritz with an antibacterial spray, leave for around 10 minutes, and wipe with a clean cloth. Also, don't forget the toilet flusher too!
5. Clear Your Pipes
Dirt, and especially hair, can easily and quickly clog up your shower or toilet pipes. It also doesn't take long to clear all that away! Just take a bottle of Mr. Muscle drain unclogger, pour half (or the entire bottle if it's REALLY clogged) and allow to work for 15 minutes (30 if a full-on clog), or overnight if need be. Take a kettle of boiling water, pour/flush it down, and repeat if necessary.
And there you have it; some of our little cleaning tips that can become part of your bathroom routine (whether that's your 30-minute blitz or a full-on clean).
